~New Fall Schedule~

Fall Update

So, back to the hustle and bustle of the real world!!!!  The girls have now started school, and so have I.  Alyssa is in the 6th grade, Alexis in the 4th, and Madison in 2nd this year.  As usual, they are all adjusting well to their new classes and making new friends.  I am taking Biology (Anatomy/Physiology), English, and a Computer Class.  I definitely have a full plate and these are the last pre-requisites I have to take before getting into the Rad Tech program.  Once in the program, it will take 2 years to get my degree.  I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but I know it will pay off.

Soccer began for all three of the girls as well, which can be very over whelming for me.  I love that they are so involved in activities, but often I am the one that is running around like a crazy person getting them here and there.  Honestly, they each have practice 2 evenings a week, and at differen't places along with each of them having games every Saturday.  Scott is coaching Alyssa's team, and i am the Assistant Coach.  I also am the team parent for Madison's team.  On top of all of this, I try to fit in my homework and studying as much as possible.  I often end up studying at 10pm when everyone is sleeping and I can concentrate without interruption.  It's not easy to find the time I need in between all of these activities.  It is a juggling game that I am trying to master:)

Alyssa is in her third year of playing the violin.  She is now in advanced violin and she loves it.  Her music teacher says that she has an ear for music and can pick up songs quickly.  She really seems to enjoy playing the violin and I hope she sticks with it.  Alexis on the other hand has decided to play the flute this year.  This is the first year she is able to play an instrument and she decided on the flute.  She hasn't learned too much yet since it started last week, but she is very intersted and anxious to learn.  I'm sure she will excel like her sister.

Also, just so you know, Alyssa and Alexis are both going to an audition tomorrow evening to sing the National Anthem at the Condors Hockey games.  Let's all wish them luck and hope they get it.

The baby is doing well and growing up too fast.  He is in the process of getting over a bad cold and double ear infection.  I spent 3 restless nights this past week with him.  I finally took him to the Urgent Care on Wednesday evening.  He is slowly getting better, but definitely sleeping at night again....thank goodness:)  He is adjusting pretty good at his babysitter while I am working or at school.  Like in the summer, I have my schedule arranged so that I don't work, or go to school past 2pm, and that way I can get the girls from school as well.  It's still hard dropping him off at the sitter, but it's what I have to do right now.

Overall, we are all doing well, but just very, very, busy.  Scott is doing really well at his work and hoping for a promotion soon.  So, that concludes this Phelps Family Update and we hope everyone else is doing well also!

~Hurricane Harbor~

Hurricane Harbor
August 17th, 2006

We decide to go to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor for a before school starts little getaway.  We hadn't been to Hurricane Harbor in over a year since Brylan was so little.  He is at the point where he is getting older and can do more things, so we took him with us.  As usual the kids had a blast and spent their endless energy running around to the differen't water slides. My personal favorite was the Lazy River....imagine that:)  It was nice to just go in circles with Brylan splashing away in the water.  He actually was really well behaved and just absolutely loves to be in the water.  We used alot of sunscreen and tried to stay in the shade for our little breaks.  We all packed lunches and headed to the picnic area to eat.  It was nice family bonding time:)  Alot of the Phelps/Davis family went and Jay and Ann helped out with the babies to give the mom's a little break here and there.  Scott had to work, of course and Josh and Justin didn't make it either.  Ryan P did go and we rode this big 4 person tornado water slide with him.  I seriously thought we were gonna wipe out, and poor little skinny Maddie about flew off the raft with the weight of myself and Ryan:)  Anyways, we had a great time and it was a perfect way to close summer break before school started.  It was also nice to have some  good qualtiy time with my children and just catch up with them:)

Here are some pictures to show our fun!!!

~Scotts 10 Year Reunion~

Scott's 10 year Highland High Reunion was on August 4th & 5th.

On Friday, the 4th we went to a family day that they had at Hart Park.  That was alot of fun as everyone got to mingle and catch up.  We ate lunch at the park, played volleyball, and the kids even had a white water raft to play in.  After lunch we even went rafting down the Kern River.  I personally had never gone, and the girls just had a blast.  I almost fell out a couple times, and the girls mainly stayed towards the middle of the raft so they wouldn't do the same.  The water wasn't that rough, but we definitely got wet and even jumped out of the raft to glide down the river a bit.  Overall, it was a great experience, and it was nice to have family time along with catching up time for Scott and his classmates.

The next evening, Saturday, we went to a dinner for the adult s only.  They had it at the Barbeque Factory here in Bako, and we had a really good evening.  We don't get many opportunities to go out without the kids, so it was a nice night to have a few drinks, chat, and meet Scott's friends.  I thought I'd feel out of place, but everyone was so nice and welcoming.  We even got called up to the front to pick up an award for having the most kids...LOL!!!!!  We won a massage which will definitely come in handy.  I must say that it was a really nice evening and I'm sure Scott enjoyed seeing all of his old friends.  I missed my 10 year when I moved out here in 2003, so it was nice to experience it with Scott.

It's just amazing how time flies and how much people change and grow up.  I see that everyday in my children and the thought of them "growing up" just scares the heck out of me:)
