~Brylan turns 2~My baby turned 2!!!! I can't believe how time flies. It seems like just yesterday he was a newborn and just laying around so content. Now, there is never a dull moment with all of the commotion that he brings. Standing on tables, jumping on couches and beds, yelling, throwing things, climbing things...you name it! Nothing could've prepared me for this little boy who tests my every limits!!!! I wouldn't change it for the world and not a day goes by that I don't fall in love with him even more. It is a learning experience for me, and I'm sure it always will be. My girls were just so much easier and laid back....Brylan just never wants to settle down. Nevertheless, the challenges that he and I will face together will just make us closer. I look back and realize that the memories will never fade and each day I will continue to watch him grow. No matter what he will always be momma's boy and I will remind him daily that "your mother is the most important woman in your life"....lol. As we celebrated his 2 years here with us it just made me think of how special he is to us. I will never take a day for granted and I just want to take the time to tell my little boy just how much I love him.....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON...
Love, Mommy ~Vegas Baby~6/29/07-7/1/07
This was our first trip away without the kids in four whole years! Scott, myself, and my sister went to Vegas for a few days. My sister flew in from Virginia to visit for a week and to go to Vegas with us. We had a great time at the Worldmark resort that we stayed at. It is part of a travelshare that we own and it was awesome. It had a lazy river, a huge pool, and a great view on the balcony. We had a two bedroom condo that was set up so nice. I only played the slots a few times, but Scott played Texas Hold Em and came home with an extra $230. My sister played roulette and didn't have the best of luck....aaawww. Anyways, my sis and I went to the Palms and checked out the club Rain. It was neat, but a little too much commotion for me. I guess I'm getting old...lol! We then went to the outlet malls and did some shopping. We made it home late Sunday night just in time to relax for the busy week ahead! I must say it was nice to get away, but it was my first time leaving Brylan for 3 LONG days and I worried about him terribly. Wouldn't you know that he was just fine when we picked him up!
~Trip back East~Virginia, D.C., and Maryland
How exciting it was for us to go on a family trip back East to visit my family! We started our trip off a little rough since our plane got delayed over 4 hours in Long Beach! It was not easy keeping 5 kids entertained for that long, but somehow we survived. After that little setback, it was smooth sailing. The flight was good and it was Kalem's first time flying. He was a little nervous, but overall he liked it alot. We started our trip by going to my dad's beach home in Colonial Beach, VA. We all camped, went fishing, and went boating. The kids caught a couple fish and it was just a great time. Next stop was going to D.C. to visit the Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and White House. We also spent the day visiting the National Zoo there in D.C. I grew up going to these places along with my children, but Kalem had never been and it was neat to share the experience with him. We took the metro train down to D.C. one day and the kids all liked that as well. For two nights, I was able to stay with my best friend Jennifer who recently moved from California to the D.C. area. It's so neat getting to visit her when I go home. What a small world! Next stop was going to the beach in Ocean City, MD. This was the beach I always went to growing up. It's so neat since it has a boardwalk with rides and attractions for the kids. It was also Brylan's first time to the beach and he had a blast. We finished our trip by spending one evening at dinner with some of my friends from high school. Scott gave his friend Jared a call since he lives in D.C. and he was also able to come and have dinner with us. As usual, I wish there was more time to spend with my family, but the time we did have was awesome. It was a great family vacation and I look forward to the next one! |
