~Katie's Graduation~6/7-6/11
So finally after 3 long years I made my first trip to Oregon! We decided to leave at night and drive through until the morning. We made a pit stop in Medford for a few hours around 8am and then at around noon we headed to Grants Pass. Scott drove most of the way and the boys were able to sleep. Kalem had his backpack full of toys to keep him entertained, but Brylan just made sure we knew he was there. Boy does that kid have some lungs! So the first stop was to Grandma Mary and Grandpa Larry's house. We met them for lunch and just fell in love with the town of Grant's Pass. It was so nice and wholesome surrounded by mountains and greenery. I loved being there. So we stayed one night there and then headed to Hillsboro to visit Grandma Sue. It was another 4 hours to get there, so we were so happy to be out of that car. Anyways, we stayed a couple days there at her house and just had a great time visiting with everyone. Of course the main reason we were there was for Katie's graduation. We went out to dinner and then off to her graduation we went. It turned out to be a really nice time, and Brylan got to show off all his new moves (walking of course.) Oh...and who could forget Rudy (the dog) that kept stealing Brylan's bottles and toys and taking them outside. It was definitely lot's of fun, but as usual it went too fast. Thank you all for having us and we had a great time. ~A Day at the pool~I meant to add this entry a while back, but I was waiting for the pictures to go with it. Anyways, I wanted to let everyone know how much Brylan loves the water! These pictures are from about a month ago when we took him swimming for the first time. I thought he might be a little scared, but he just loved it. He refused to get out of the pool even though his little lip was quivering....it was too cute. We got him a little baby raft and he thought he was big stuff in it! The girls had a great time swimming with him and playing with him in the water. Of course we loaded everyone with sunscreen and just enjoyed our day in the sun. ~Away to VA for 6 weeks~Saying goodbye to the girls
So, they're off again!!! Yes, my girls have just left me to go to my mom's for part of the summer:( I was really sad to see them leave and I already miss them bunches! We spent our last day together shopping and getting their stuff together. We then had that awful long trip to Long Beach where they flew out at. Even though I miss them lot's, they have to be having more fun there then they would here. I just started school this week and my part time job, so they would have to go to daycare if they were here anyways. Brylan certainly misses them being here to play with. At least I know they won't be gone that long this time and we just want them to know that we miss them terribly! Have a great time girls and we will see ya soon! ~First Steps~6/5/2006
With the help of big sis Lexy, Brylan took his first steps! He has been pulling himself up and balancing for a while now, but at 11 months he is walking alone! Lexy was practicing with him and letting go of him and sure enough he took off about 6 steps alone. Now he is taking even more steps alone. He also has 5 teeth now, and is just thriving. He is such a "boy" and he is so rough! I must say that having a little boy is differen't...but in a good way!
~M & K's B-day~Madison and Kalem's Birthday
I can't believe that my baby girl is 7 today! Wow...how time flies. I may have a younger child now, but she will always be my baby girl. I just have to look back and think of all the memories I have of her growing up. I must say that out of the three, Madison has been the one to test me the most. She was a great baby, and then she hit the terrible two's early and just never really outgrew it! Even though she has tested me so much I must say that she always held a special place in my heart and she still does and she always will. I guess I feel alot of guilt because she was only 10 mo's when her dad and I split up. I know she was confused, and unlike the other two girls, she didn't have as much a chance to understand what was going on. She also had to deal with the death of her favorite Grandpa (Papa) when she was only 2 and never really accepted his leaving us. As you all know she turned out just fine and is stubborn as ever...wonder where she gets that from??? Anyways today we are celebrating her 7 years with us.
Ironically it happens to be Kalem's birthday as well. He is turning 6 today, so on June 3rd we had a party for the both of them. We had hot dogs and chips along with some cake and ice cream. Kalem picked out an x-men cake, and Madison had a bratz cake. Scott did a tattoo booth, and I tempted a face painting booth. We played some games like hot potato, and had a treasure hunt. The kids all had a good time except for the fact that it was so hot! For all of you who sent gifts for them, we want to thank you. Anyways another year has passed, boy how time flies! I will be adding some pictures up here soon when I get a chance. ~Mother's Day~I just wanted to take the time to say how much I appreciate my daughters. They are just awesome, and their unconditional love is something I just adore. They woke us up on Mother's day with a cake for me, and one for Scott since it was also his birthday. They then did a dance and sang for us. They then gave me some flowers and had made some arts and crafts for the both of us. We all had a great day and it just makes me proud to be their mother. I love my children and wouldn't change anything about them or my life. They are such a blessing and I love them all with all my heart! ~A day at the park~A day at the Park
So, we decided to go to a new park that opened in Bakersfield called Riverwalk. It is a big open park that has a fishing pond, a creek with rocks for the kids, a big playground, and even a concert pavillion. There is also alot of grills and picnic tables to cookout if you want to. They had opening day ceremonies the whole weekend and the girls played games, made crafts, and played in the creek. They all had a great time except for the ridiculous heat. I forgot the sunscreen, so we couldn't stay too long especially with the baby. Overall, we had a great day together and it was lot's of fun. We look forward to going back there again soon and it's nice to have another place to take the kids around here. |
