    ~Easter~

    Easter
    2007

We had a wonderful Easter this year.  We did our easter eggs on Saturday night, and then the kids were so excited for Easter that they took forever to fall asleep. The kids woke up bright and early to see their baskets from the Easter Bunny!  After that they went to church with a friend, and then we cooked some food to take over to Papa J's house.  While over there we had a wonderful Easter dinner and played some games.  The kids had an Easter Egg Hunt, and got more candy as a result....lucky me...I get to deal with the sugar high:)!  Brylan was playing with a kids golf club and when we took him over to hunt for eggs, he found one and sat it down on the ground and proceeded to hit it like a golf ball.  It was too funny.  The adults then played some crocket, followed by a few games of dodgeball.  I must say that I was sore the next day from being pounded by the dodgeball.  Overall, it was a beautiful day and most importantly we got to spend it with our family.

    ~Soccer tournament~

    Weekend in Pasadena
    3/31-4/1

So, Alyssa got asked to play in a soccer tournament this weekend in Pasadena.  I headed there with Alyssa at 5am Saturday morning.  Her first game was at 8am, and they tied .  She then had a later game at around 1pm and they ended up losing that one.  It was really neat since they played right in front of the Rose Bowl.  Scott met me at the hotel later that evening with the rest of the kids.  We then had a game at 9am on Sunday morning.  Unfortunately, they lost that one as well, but the overall experience was great.  The weather was really nice and the scenery was great in that area.  It was nice to get out of Bakersfield for a couple of days. Alyssa has another tournament on April 14-15th, but that one is here in Bakersfield.  She is also playing in a coed Police League right now.  That child eats, sleeps, and breathes soccer!
