chrissy025I wanted to write a little something as a tribute to someone very dear to us that passed away after a long battle with cancer.  The girls' Aunt Chrissy was someone very special and will always hold a place in our heart.  Chrissy and I became especially close in the past 7 years since her brother and I divorced.  Most of the time when a person goes through a divirce, you feel pushed out of the family.  Well, that was not the case for me.  My ex's family is still very much a part of my life.  I get along with all of them very well and I will never forget one day in particular when Chrissy called just to tell me that she considered me her sister. We've remained in touch over the years and she always spoke of how much she missed me and the girls.  Chrissy was always there for me when I needed her and she helped me tremendously during my divorce to her brother.  She was a doting Aunt and never hesitated to watch the girls for me if I were in a bind.  I was lucky to have her live in North Carolina with me for a few years.  Chrissy was a great person with a big heart and she will be missed dearly.  We love you Chrissy and you will never be forgotten.

006007010016025028030031032033034035043064This year we had a wonderful Christmas.  Papa J went to Idaho for Christmas, so we had an "early" Christmas evening over at his house on the 17th of December.  The children made ginger bread houses and opened their presents from Papa J and Grandma Ann.  On December 24th we had the Phelps siblings and their wives over to our house for the adult gift exchange.  Since everyone has so much running around to do on Christmas day with visiting family, it was nice to see everyone before they got too busy.  On Christmas morning we had Kalem until 10 am. Last year we didn't get Kalem until 10 am, so we had to make the kids wait until then, but they were excited this year since Kalme was already here. All of the kids wrote a letter to santa and left cookies and milk out for him.  The kids got plenty of good presents and Brylan is at the age where this is fun for him now.  The girls and I also attended a 10pm Christmas Eve church service.  This is something we used to do back home and it was so nice to carry that tradition over this year.  We had Christmas dinner over at Joyce's house with Jason and Justin.  Even though most of our family was not here with us this year, we had each other and found many things to be grateful for.  Most importantly, I made sure to remind the kids about the true meaning of Christmas.  Enjoy the pictures.
