~Ice Blocking~

~Ice Blocking 1/2/07~

I bet that most of you are asking the same question I did.  What in the world is ice blocking?  Well, you go and buy a block of ice at one of the gas stations (costs about $2 a block) ,and then you take it to a hill and put a towel on top of it, and then sit down on top of it and ride the ice block down the hill.  Sound interesting?  Well let's just say that over on the East Coast where I am from, we just wait until it snows and then ride a sled down the hill.  I guess since they don't get snow here in Bakersfield that this is what some people do for fun.  People also do it in the summer when it's hot because the ice melts faster and it gets slicker. I must say that my bottom is really sore since I hit a sprinkler head on and them flipped over!  I was sore for 2 whole days after that one, but I was a good sport and at least I tried it. I took some pictures to show exactly how it works!  Enjoy!

~Christmas~

Merry Christmas
12/25/06

We had a wonderful Christmas out here in California.  I will never get used to the weather being so mild and sunny, but regardless it was still Christmas.  Being from Virginia, I'm used to snow occasionally on Christmas morning, and bone chilling cold temperatures.  It just makes me laugh when people here think that it's so cold...they have no clue:)

So, we had a wonderful, quiet christmas here at our house.  We got Kalem at 10am Christmas morning and we have him until January 2nd.  The hardest part was making the girls wait until 10am when Kalem arrived!  I made them a big breakfast to waste some time, but they were getting really antcy to open their presents.  Finally, Kalem arrived ,and our house was quickly filled with wrapping paper.  Brylan is certainly getting this "unwrapping gifts" thing down pat. All of the kids were pleased with their gifts, and we want to take a minute to thank everyone who gave or sent gifts to the kids.  We appreciate your thought and are thankful that you are a part of lives.

The only thing missing from our Christmas was all of my family.  I am thankful that I spent the week before Christmas with them, but we really wish they could've been here with us.  One thing for sure is that they were and always are in our hearts and we think about all of you every single day.

(I will post some picures really soon-Sorry running behind a bit)

~Disneyland in December~

Disneyland
12/13/2006

The girls got to make their first trip to Disneyland (FINALLY) this year!!!  A few years ago I was able to take Alyssa and Alexis to Disney World, but Madison was too young.  We have been in California for almost 4 years now and they finally got to go.  They were thrilled to say the least!  I wasn't able to go, due to a trip planned to Virginia, but Scott did take the girls along with his dad and other family members. I am so thrilled that the girls got to go and that they had lots of fun.  I wish I could've gone with them, but I am glad they had fun anyways. I will post some pictures up as soon as I get them.  (Not much else going on here but planning for Christmas.)
